I shot a small video while I was working there, including my daily life, lovely staffs, the working environment and five interviews about my colleagues on their job.
To be honest, the initial goal for this video was to show my life to my parents and friends, who were away in China, knowing little about Illinois and my job. However, when I was shooting, I found I could actually do more, that is to say, my “ambition” became larger. So, then I interviewed some colleagues and also recorded their working after permission, and finally made it into a ten-minute video, presenting my unforgettable experience as well as Springfield, a beautiful traditional American small town.

Thepaper.cn is a new media platform mainly for hot issues and political news, which originated from Shanghai Media Group. It born in Shanghai, 2014 with all the editors and reporters coming from newspaper, but its products were only published to websites, mobile apps and social media.
It was so lucky for me to be recommended to do my internship in this new, energetic and rigorous media. During my time there, I assisted several excellent reporters, including chief editor Wu, photographer Quan, journalist Zhao, journalist Diao and journalist Guo. I also witnessed some big events and the whole process of news production, like the opening of the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Shandong vaccine scandal, intense highway pressure before the Spring Festival..etc.
What’s more, I joined in some important interviews including Fan Lixin, a documentary director, Shen Jie, the president of Capital Normal University High School, Ye Dahua, Deputy Director of Coordination Bureau of Beijing International Horticultural Exhibitions and so on. Besides, I wrote articles about Beijing’s traffic conditions, Chinese aircraft carriers, the defense news of Philippine and USA and Beijing International Horticultural Exhibitions.
What benefited me the most was not the works I had done, but the professional qualities and devotion I saw from my honorable teachers. One of my teacher, photographer Quan, was the first photographer to go into the world-shaking Tianjin explosion, the only reporter who was trusted by the families of MH370 victims, and the one who consecutively reported the MH370 event when others all forgot it. Plus, another teacher, reporter Diao, was the first one to disclose the serious Shandong vaccine scandal, encountering huge pressure and barriers from evil merchants and local governments.
From them, I learned the responsibilities and enthusiasm as well as persistence and fearlessness, and many other things that I never learned from textbooks and classes.

It was an honor to join in Harvard Model United Nation Conference 2016, from Feb.11 to Feb.14 in Boston. To make me luckier, I represented Delegate of Cuba in WHO session whose topic is Institutionalizing Pandemic and Epidemic Management.
During my time there, I was deeply absorbed in heated discussions, even forgetting eating and sleeping! All delegates in my team were in high spirits, writing clauses, lobbying other countries, making strategies to push the meeting, coming out creative solutions and sparing no efforts to promote team’s goal–shouldering common but differentiated responsibilities to management diseases and making U.N. a better platform to facilitate collaboration and to offer aid.
Although four-day time passed quickly, it was long enough to get closed to my lovely and excellent friends. From them, I saw love, enthusiasm, persistence, compassion and justice and there was every reason to believe we wonderful young people will lead to a bright future for tomorrow’s world.
The summer of 2015 in Beijing was super hot, the same as my heart!
–Because I went to CCTV 10 as an intern!
During July and August, Our team held an annual competition for the best Chinese reading juvenile, picking 49 teenagers from the whole China, arranging them living together and training them until the final show.
I was responsible for writing promotion articles for its social media subscribers. What I needed to do was following all seven teams, tracking their activities, taking pictures and recording funny and moving moments, finally publishing them in diverting multimedia works.
Here are the seven works I wrote: Please click the following link below:
Renmin University holds Art Festival in Mays. In my first year, I joined in this performance with my friends and classmates. Taking the inspiration from STOMP, I arranged rhythmic clapping and passing cups, together with Djembe, a west African drum and Chinese Drum, forming a combination of different rhythms.
